Reverse Logistics Steps and Process

Our reverse logistics process is designed to handle every aspect of ecommerce returns. In the cases where a product is already received by the customer there are three options for starting the return process:

  • The customers initiate the return by themselves on your website.
  • You, the online merchant, initiate the return in our client interface after receiving information by your customers.
  • The customers do an independent return with a courier by their choice to a local address – one of our fulfillment centers which is listed in your website.

In all the cases above the goods reach one of our fulfillment warehouses. There, they are sorted and consolidated according to the final destination they need to reach, depending on whether you use fulfillment services.

  • If you use fulfillment services, we perform quality and quantity control and restock them back in our fulfillment warehouses.
  • If you don’t use fulfillment services, we send them directly to your warehouse address along with the undelivered shipments

Through these processes, we can ensure the smoothest and fastest possible transportation or restocking of your goods to optimize your inventory management.

Reverse Logistics

Customer-Initiated Returns

The most common way to start the return process is when the customer logs into their online store account and creates a pickup request. Our API allows the ecommerce platform to automatically send the pickup request information to us, enabling us to direct a courier to the specified address for product pickup.

Merchant-Initiated Returns

If your online store lacks a return request form, you can use the Pickup Request menu in our client interface and request a courier to pick up the shipment based on the information provided by your customer.

Local Return Address

An additional option for yоu is to specify one of our warehouses as a local return address in the “Return Conditions” section of your online store. This allows customers to send their returns using a courier of their choice without requiring intervention from euShipments.

Create a Pickup Request

After initiating the return process on their own, your customers can create a Pickup request. They can select an exact day, time, and location for a courier visit, including their home or office. Afterwards, our team receives the information automatically and executes the product pickup.

In the other case, once you receive the necessary information from your customers, simply log into your client panel on our platform. In less than a minute, you can fill out the return request for a courier visit, and we also provide return labels to simplify the process.

When the consumer chooses to return the shipment independently to our local reverse logistics address, there is no need to create a pickup request because the shipments arrive directly at our warehouse.

There are 2 main ways to receive a product.

To Our Fulfillment Center if You Use Fulfillment Services

Upon receiving the returned product, we follow a detailed process to ensure quality and efficiency. We execute quality and quantity control and inspect the product to ensure it is in good condition and has an undamaged commercial appearance, making it eligible under your return policies. If everything is in order, we notify you and the customer, and stock the products back.

 

You can then see these products in stock again, ready for resale. If there are any issues during the quality and quantity control, we may classify the products for further discussion with the merchant or note them as partially or fully damaged.

 

To Your Warehouses if You Don’t Use Fulfillment Services

Alternatively, we send the product directly back to your warehouse, regardless of its location. We consolidate these returns along with undelivered shipments that failed to reach the final recipients due to reasons such as incorrect addresses.

 

These shipments are returned to you based on pre-agreed terms and schedules, such as weekly, monthly, or once a certain volume is reached. Throughout this process, our system constantly updates the Track & Trace information for each shipment. Automated emails inform you about the scanned and processed shipments, including a packing list that details the expected returns.
