“Clean Ruse” is a project that stems from our belief that sustainable development is the result of taking responsibility for the community and the environment in which we do business. euShipments.com takes an active role in initiating and supporting associations and projects with social impact, both financially and through direct participation in various initiatives. We are constantly looking for opportunities and building relationships with people and organizations that share our commitment to the development of the local community. We strive to set an example as a company that organizes, supports, or participates in events and activities that promote sustainable practices, social equality, and environmental protection.
On May 11, 2024, we implemented our first environmental initiative, part of “Clean Ruse” – our joint project in partnership with the Municipality of Ruse. As part of this first initiative, we gathered volunteers from the teams of euShipments.com, the Municipality of Ruse, and partner companies in the region to clean up and beautify a popular recreation and tourism area near Ruse, Bulgaria.
The motives behind the creation of the “Clean Ruse” project are rooted not only in the corporate culture of euShipments.com, but also in the key role of the Ruse fulfillment center in the development of our logistics group. It was in Ruse, Bulgaria, that euShipments.com started its operations in 2012. Moreover, over the years, our first fulfillment center has established itself as a strategic location for our logistics network. Thanks to its favorable geographical location on the border between Bulgaria and Romania, the Ruse fulfillment center significantly optimizes transit times for e-commerce deliveries throughout the region. Today, the center handles tens of thousands of shipments daily, playing a significant role in our ecosystem of logistics and technology solutions.
The initiative to create the joint project “Clean Ruse” belongs to the euShipments.com team, and a meeting was held with representatives of the Municipality of Ruse – Deputy Mayors Zlatomira Stefanova and Nikola Lazarov, as well as Yoana Vuleva, Chief Expert in the “Ecology and Green Urban Environment” Directorate. They responded immediately with a positive answer, and we started the process of identifying an area and preparing for the first cleanup within the framework of the open-ended project. Together, we chose a tourist area near Ruse – a popular destination for tourists from Bulgaria, Romania, and other neighboring countries because of its beautiful nature and convenient location.
As already mentioned, this first initiative within the framework of “Clean Ruse” took place on May 11, 2024, a Saturday. Over 130 volunteers of different ages took part in the cleanup. Among them were part* of the euShipments.com team, representatives of the Municipality of Ruse, and local partner companies.
After a full day of work by volunteers and with the help of gondolas provided by the Municipality of Ruse, over 50 tons of waste, including household and industrial waste, were collected and transported. Key areas within the designated area were cleaned up, and after the campaign, we put up information signs to prevent re-littering. In this way, we aim to preserve the results achieved—if not in the long term, then at least until our next similar initiative.

“Clean Ruse” is just one of our ESG activities in 2024. To date, we have supported other educational and social causes, including donations to local foundations, support for young talent through training, and other initiatives with a long-term positive impact on society and nature.
We believe that true sustainability is achieved on a large scale through cooperation and consistency. That is why we will continue to invest in causes that make the environment around us cleaner, safer, and better for everyone.
