We understand that the Returns management process is one of the most undesired eCommerce logistics-related processes out there. For many online merchants the returns and exchanges are an extra time and resource expense for their business. To address the online merchants’ concerns about processing returns/exchanges, we developed a fully-automated Pickup request service that allows them to manage each return request in just a few clicks.
The service involves creating a simple request (the so-called Pickup request) for a courier visit to the customer’s address to collect packages for product returns or exchanges. In addition to courier visits, for some markets within the euShipments.com logistics network, there is also the option to return or exchange products via the locker network of our last-mile partner in the respective market.
This allows customers, after the online merchant has created a Pickup request, to drop off the products they want to return at their preferred locker location. For additional convenience, there is no need to specify the locker location in advance.
The Pickup request solution is available for all active clients of the euShipments Group. The request can be automatically processed via API, or online merchants can access their account within our client interface and go to their Daily operations section to select the Pickup request option. It requires simple information about the sender of the soon-to-be-returned shipment (the customer) and the Pickup request type (courier visit or locker drop-off). Once the request is complete, it’s passed to our last-mile partner who would be responsible for collecting the package. They collect the package and transport it to the local courier depot for scan, followed by further transportation back to the warehouse of origin.
Once the Pickup request has been submitted and the customer has handed over the package to a courier or has dropped it off at a locker, all the responsibility for the successful return of the package comes to the euShipments.com logistics network.
If the online merchant uses our fulfillment services, we send the shipment back to the fulfillment center where it originally came. Then our team conducts a quality control procedure and if everything is alright with the product/s we restock them. Otherwise we send the shipment to our client’s own warehouse.
Our system provides full traceability not only for eCommerce deliveries but also for each and every returned shipments in our network. It allows both online merchants and their customers track in real time the progress of the return.
